Though the Warcraft fanbase (and the comic fanbase in general) might argue against the storytelling quality of the official Warcraft comic that’s actually in print, reading it made me realize one significant thing: I’ve hardly read any modern day comics to speak of. Looking through it I was both awed and greatly envious how leisurely they could place and twist panes to emphasize on artistry and events and still remain readable – something I struggle with continously just to break out of the square upon square design most common in webcomics.
Action is particularely difficult – especially since I have no readily workable way of making motion lines/blurs to emphasize motion yet. I wanted to do some experimentation with pane design and camera angles for this one, trying to get a feel for how to inject some kind of energy into the fighting that still images tend to lack. Sooner or later fighting is bound to be on more even terms, I’d rather like a good idea of how to portray it by then.
On a random trivia note, those are actually not Imps, but Grell.

reading through them yet again..
this humour.. I miss it in the recent chapters^^
I hate to sound like an ass or so but they are not imps, theyre grells. They use the same model I know but theyre two completely different creatures.
And thus why the bottom of the text blurb clearly states “On a random trivia note, those are actually not Imps, but Grell.”
