Yeah, I totally went there.
Alright alright, uhm.. when I first accepted that I couldn’t go past Elwynn Forest without in the least mentioning Hogger, I found myself pondering how I might go about doing that. The two obvious methods either involves making him the low level elite he is, or beefing him up to the mass slayer of player characters that statistics/his legend make him – I found that neither of these approaches really interested me, nor felt like they’d have a point in the narrative. So I was left with trying to find another way – something interesting, something that would catch people off guard and in the least I would find funny.
In the end, it actually was quite simple: rather than making Hogger into the low level elite that the game claims he is, or making him into the invincible, murderous monster that his legend claims he is, I’d make him into what he actually is:
A Legend.
