This was an idea that first came to me back when we first left Stormwind – I thought it’d be an interesting spin on it if instead of wading through the crowd and the potential risks with that.. they’d take a path which Hani found far more comfortable but the rest more or less found a worse option. For awhile I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to go with it or not, especially not so soon after Hani’s shoulder had healed, but.. well. I thought it was an interesting enough idea to run with it, in the end. Plus, it’ll help with a few other things later.
Funnily enough, someone actually called this outcome.

I get the feeling she’s resto, but all druids ingame have cat and bear. Will she be learning a shapeshift anytime soon?
Most likely answer: no.
While even non-feral player druids in World of Warcraft are generally portrayed as masterful (or, in the very least, highly skilled) shapeshifters, my inspiration for the abilities of young druidess Nila actually for most part come from Malfurion Stormrage, whose depictions usually doesn’t involve that much shapeshifting.
Of course, Te’len’s also still only a novice, having only studied druidism for a few years at most.
Tipping the hat to all those people who spent hours trying to get up on the roofs back in the day, eh? ;)

Nhani, I don’t know if this was subtle fan-service, but Te’len at those angles was purely delicious. Thanks, whether it was intentional or not. By the way, Te is beautiful, and I love the new model the more of her I see; that’s all!
Also, just wanted to praise you with Tiny who, despite not having an updated look and receiving a couple of close-ups so far, doesn’t make the differences overtly obvious when I’m enjoying the comic. I suppose it just goes to show how “realistic” your model upgrades look even when side-to-side with the Night Elves we’re all used to seeing. So, kudos!

Wow, what a great laugh to start the day, going over the roofs! Perfect for Hani, her ease and confidence just shine! As for Te’len… that girl needs to develop some confidence.. or a cat form, she was already on all fours, after all… :)

I’ve been reading this thing for quite a while now and I have to say that this webcomic is AWESOME!!! All of my 10 minute breaks in ICC were spent reading and catching up on Beyond the Tree and even now, 3 months after leaving WoW, I find myself anxiously waiting for updates. Keep up the great work, Nhani. You have a great thing going.

Its probably a good thing it’s not set in “modern” Stormwind. Come around a corner and it would be be “Oh man, go get a room in Goldshire and oh btw Worgen and gnome is just plain wrong”
