So, yeah. Where has Beyond the Tree been? The biggest and most notable thing is really my being unable to sleep properly for the last few, well, weeks, at least. It hasn’t exactly done wonders for my concentration, nor my urge to really do much of anything, so that’s really the outstanding problem. Of course, the release of both The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Saints Row the Third didn’t help my lack of desire to sit down and stare tiredly at 3D graphics for a few hours at all.

I just went through all of the 291 pages and I must say that the comic is pretty damn awesome. I never cared much for Night elves, but after this they are OK in my book. Keep up the good work.

Yus, I think that’s Hani’s knife (you’ll recall she used it to stab the harvest “reaper” in the “neck”, and to put an end to the goblin captain)
Hani’s had that knife for awhile (since her first major revision, if I recall) sheathed in her backpack like that. She kept her sword with her when she went off on her own path in case of trouble, but left her utility knife behind so she wouldn’t have to carry it along in her hands.
I hope that insomnia has let you rest again, and as for new games, I think many of us are subject to that allure. I will be lost in the SWTOR beta weekend in less than 11 hours!

Ehh, night elves are a very formal people, and their language is a very aesthetic one. It’s not much of a stretch to think that they’d assimilate a feminine genderization to a word, especially one that was masculine-only for 10,000 years, just to make it sound prettier.
One could even argue that, given the stature that females have in nelf society, making a female version is a sign of higher respect and/or politeness.
To be fair, looking at most of World of Warcraft you’d be forgiven for thinking there’s no female version of Priest either – while the title Priestess is referred to in canon, the game dialogue scripting simply does not modify class names for gender.
Typically, Druid isn’t used as a title on its own in this particular context either, so it strikes me as a rather gray area – especially since Blizzard aren’t exactly all that much for formal address. It’s a fair point, but I’m not sure if it’s one I’d take as a sign of anything without it being referenced in some form of style guide.
Besides, it’s hardly the first time I’ve referred to young Nila with the term druidess.
Ah, this is one of those moments, that being outside the story you know and hope that a certain guard with an attitude is standing on the pier when Deathwing shows up.
Yes but did a Tsunami hit the pier first well I seem to recall that from the intro video when he flies over that impacts first the the wings pull out whatever remains standing with the up draft as he flies over it. I’ll probably see the video again when I watch it after installing on my new rig next week. I am pretty sure it was a Tsunami that came then the pier gets finally destroyed on his passing. If that guard was on it then it’s Goodnight Vienna for her.
