#12 – “Just Passing Through”

I doubt many people playing World of Warcraft actively managed to miss the burst of information we recently recieved regarding the comming Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Since I figured the discussion of what repercussion each bit of information might have is best left for people with a more intricate understanding of the system, my contribution instead will be a wallpaper depicting my rendition of a Gnomish Death Knight. Be afraid, be very afraid.

This page took far longer than I’d expected to make – though I had the basic outline and dialogue, it somehow didn’t want to come together into a single cohesive result. It didn’t help that I came to realize it’s actually a very important page as it tells us a significant ammount about our current core duo – Hani in particular – both with during and between the lines. I kept looking for some way to inject some humour so the comic isn’t all just Serious Business but through most of it it seemed out of place.

Establishing characters is slow work and the idea is that we should have plenty of time to get familiar with each new cast member (in this case, our core duo) before new ones are introduced. That way we can just casually refer to the characters and expect people to Get It without having to spend half a page explaining the reference.

Nicely done on the comic – and also the Death Knight picture. Hopefully we won’t see too many tiny Death Knights. ;)

Looking again at the death knight render, I see now that Areen was not the first to have her irises overlay her eyelids. Aside from that, she does look ferocious, and not to be dismissed on account of her size.

So all your characters seem to be female (looking ahead, I see one exception in the “supporting cast”, Delgren the Purifier). Why is that?

Oh, and I notice Delgren is the only one you don’t identify by anything but his first name. So, just what do you have against men? ;)

Touche. Outstanding arguments. Keep up the great spirit.
