#55 – “The Truth is Out There”

I’m having this faint, vague urge to stand up and yell “Surprise!”.

When I first scripted this page, one of the things that stood out was that it seemed like it might be a little too petty for a Paladin like Delgren to so visibly appear slighted so easily; I ultimately kept it in because I thought it was a good joke that can be twisted and turned in so many ways. Delgren somehow ended up with the suspect honour of being the verbal punching bag so far, not sure how that happened but you can be he’s not too happy with the role.

We’re also leaving Te’len behind again for awhile. We’ll pick her up again later, but for now we’ll let her sit safely at camp. Gives me an excuse to see if I can think of a way to overhaul her model and appearance in the near future; hoping to sneak the upgrades that came with Hani’s model revision into most main characters as things progress.

I also know Hani’s attempt at rolling her eyes looks a tad off. Think the eye direction morphs could use a bit of correctional work once I figure out how they’re best utilized.

yeah, the eye rolling was quite odd. On the other hand, if you roll with glowing eyes, would someone actually notice?

Was laughing my ass off at the three last cells. One might wonder what Delgren had in mind. Does he suspect race discrimination? That heroes only want to save pretty girls? or that Hani is, in fact lesbian? I guess we’ll never find out ^^

    Lovely comic as always

Delgren is such a weak paladin! He should’ve rolled priest *nod*
awesome strip as always, even if the eye-rolling looks wonky, we still love you!

If you mean Te’len, then I’m not sure what other reason I can give beyond because it’s the posture I felt was right for her to have. Looking back through the archive, it’s not a new thing either – she’s stood holding one of her arms several times in the past; it really has to do with it creating a certain impression that – conciously or subconciously – suggests a few things about her as a character and her current situation.

Compare this to Hani whom you can often find with her arms crossed or a hand on her hip, or Raene who tends to rest her polearm on her shoulder – either create a completely different impression from how Te’len tends to come across.

What? So now he’s going to put in said effort to fail because they thought he could handle the rest?
