#57 – “Not Gone, Just Fishing”

Alright, a little late an update I know. I’d intended to get this page done last night, but I spent the time making a Hallow’s End themed Wallpaper instead. Embrace creativity when it comes and all.

So, more fun with Murlocs. At this rate they’ll end up being Tiny’s arch nemesii, or somesuch. As with all pages that are very Tiny-centric, one of the key things to play with is scale; just how small she is compared to most other things we come across. Of course, it also helps that she’s a complete and utter snarker.

I’ve been experimenting with rendering shadows differently again – this time keeping the character shadows raytraced and making the ground shadows Shadowmap to make them softer but darker. It worked great on the aforementioned wallpaper, so it’s something to test around with and see how it goes.

    Such sweet humor ^^

I see that you’ve had a bit of fun with the shadows again. Personally I think it would have worked splendidly in a savanna or in another very open space with the sun beating down on everything standing. But in a really thick forest such as Ashenvale? You can’t even see the sun through the tree tops (the nightelves don’t like to take part in sunbathing for some reason.)

It might be a nice thing to remember for a later page, a more sunny page.
