Outside the inn once more. This is one of those pages that mix a little of everything; character moments, story and character exposition and quirky humour.. they tend to be fun to make as there’s often plenty of space for characters to express themselves. I try to have some fun with it when situation presents itself – like Tiny gesturing a pair of fangs with her fingers.
One of the most difficult bits I found with this particular page was dialogue placement – it’s unusually longwinded in dialogue with plenty of texts that couldn’t easilly be rephrased or cut down. The pages are generally designed dialogue first with panes then laid out to room it and poses and renders after that.. but even so it can feel really cramped and cluttered sometimes. Now I do like the font I use – “Fawn Script” for reference – sometimes it feels much taller than regular comic fonts, and that it takes a huge amount of space as a result.
Oh, and how many of you noticed Tinys’ redesign?
