#104 – “The Hardest Word”

This is an interesting page, and one I wanted to be heartfelt. Like prior, there’s a difficult line – I didn’t want it too.. mm.. appologetic, since that’s not really the point. If anything, the last few pages were made simply to see how Te’len reacts to situations, and contrast that with how the duo does. And, of course, it helps the whole troupe come to terms with how they’re going to have to deal with things once they make landfall.

Of course, I also like the chance to show that while Te’len lacks the martial prowess of Hani or the verbal bite of Tiny, she has her own sort of strength to draw on.

”Damn that Nila, how does she dare to get angry at me. I’m the only one alloved to be angry here! Besides, I only got her banished from her homeland, it’s not that big of a deal. At least not big enough to give her the right to interrupt my dramatic pose.”

Maybe I’m just being ignorant, but I still can’t see the deepness of Hani’s character.

I can’t really blame Hani for being mad at Te’len really, you don’t have to talk to me either for the rest off the day if you yelled at me in my face :)

but Te’len’s reasoning did the job well :) she’s right about being alone and that the 3 of them need to stick together. but does Hani really doesn’t care for her or was that just her frustration speaking to Te’len? ^^

Can’t wait till they will set foot in SW and see what kind of trouble they get themselves into at that point :p

even if you had caused my need to yell yourself?

How about this: What if Hani isn’t specifically angry at Te’len at all – what if she’s simply upset, off balance and not really ready to deal with things – and at that point, Te’len is simply one who entered her personal space at a time when she’d rather retain that barrier. And considering that one page back Tiny still showed holding a significant grudge towards Delgren, I think it’s fair to say that the duo aren’t always the most resonable of people.

For what Hani thinks of Te’len – I’d say that’s largely about the way Hani classifies people, and that this page might call for a reevaluation of that judgement.

Of course, I personally thought that, sans empowering Te’len, the point in this page was more about acceptance and understanding; when Te’len refers to Hani being angry, she doesn’t mean towards herself ;)

Eh, if anything, it goes to show Hani is huma- err, night elf after all. That she’s not exempt from flaws: in this particular case, irrational anger directed at the wrong person.

It sort of highlights the fact that the main character too is prone to the occasional slip up. She’s not perfect as some seem to think, which if I’m not mistaken was one of the major points of contention.

That Hani’s not perfect is an understatement, just look at how Tyrande treated her, witch is something that is still stinging Hani, while Tel’en has just simply come to terms with her own anger and simply appoligizes for it.

Btw, i got spooked the way Hani looks at Tel’en in the first few pages(Archimonde death glare if u ask me) really spooky!!(shudders)

as for the Comic, i’m quite exited to see how they will handle things. like, will tel’en accept or cry the way the other races deal with nature? and will Hani find a warrior who is her match? and will we finally hear how Tiny got, well tiny?

Soon in a future Episode of: Beyond the Tree!! ;)

Nhani, is there any chance of Hani ever getting a weapon that is actually from the lore? Or maybe the sword she carries already has a specific name?

Her current sword is pretty ordinary – ignoring how thick and wide it is; I decided her sword much on the same criteria as I did her outfit – something looking rather plain and unassuming. I do have plans to replace it further down the line, with something that’s a little more towards the empowered and enchanted at that, though I’ve yet to decide on what exactly to aim for stylistically.

I don’t have any specific weapons in mind – I don’t know that many swords the lore holds seperate (not counting ones that are “just loot”), and most of the ones I know seem somewhat unfitting, either stylistically or just through the difficulty of obtaining them.

Of course, I also have a hard time seeing Hani taking the time to learn and respect the history of a weapon. I think she’d be far more interested in the practical details.

    @ Elveswarrior
There are more Dwarfs in Stormwind and the rest of the human areas then just around the ammo stores,.. i`m sure they`ll run into atleast 1 or 2 when they visite a inn there.

    @ Weertangel
It was a lot of fun down under, just the flight back was a bit bumpy,..
ì`m curently re-installing windows on my computer, so that means re-installing WOW too,..
It will most likely take me till the end of the day to have it up and running again,..
By the way,.. what server do you play on?

I wish Hani’s next sword will be Ashbringer XD
