#110 – “Quick Thinking”

Culture clash can be a funny thing – atleast if you’re on the side that realizes what the other one is missing. Of course, some people just clash period while others can actually work around or even utilize it.

Of course, one of the key reasons for this entire four-page sidetrack is to take a first few steps to show what Te’len can do (along with showing how the group dynamic has changed and pointing out how the protagonists aren’t always “the heroes” – not yet, anyway). I think the group dynamic is interesting to play with because we pretty much now have three distinct individuals who all have their own set of abilities, their own way to view and approach things and their own motivations; at this point in time the group themselves are still adjusting and – in a way – getting used to how to delegate tasks.

I really like this page! The human’s face in the third panel and Nila blushing… *smirks*

Just one thing: Isn’t Tiny supposed to call her “Tee”, with two ‘e’? Just wondering *shy*

“Tee” (or “T”) is what Hani calls Tiny, while “Te” (kind of like “Teh”) is what Tiny sometimes calls Te’len. It’s a little confusing since they partially overlap.

Great page, really fits the title also! Very fitting for a careful druid who has decided to help out her friends to do it this way, subtile all the way. Great facial expressions! Isn’t it kind of confronting for Hani to be called Sentinel all the sudden though? And about Tee being a nature spirit… a helping nature spirit, has some kind of a paradox sound to it, but that just makes it better =).

    Great job, please go on.

Loved the last pane where Te blushed, I think she was even impressed with herself as well as the other two. Since I came across this comic (which I can’t for the life of me remember how, I think I saw a link somewhere from another favorite site) and began reading it, each comic I saw left me with this impatient urge for each thursday and sunday to come so I could read the next one! Please don’t stop! I love BTT more than any other WoW related comic I’ve read. *super happeh face*

Hah! You got a good chuckle out of me too with the nature spirit comment. ^_^

I guess Tee could carry those druid resurrection seeds for Te’len. That, or she could constantly remind the group of current objectives with “Hey!” and “Listen!”

    Unicorn hunting??? nvm..

For the rest, great page! this one was just quite funnyer then the last 3 ones(no offence but Hani dark mood was pulling even me down.) just want to see if Te’len will get anymore comments on calling Hani a Sentinel and Tiny a nature spirit!!(that one really rocked!)

Is Tinys a nature spirit ill never tuch a tree again (remember that “Evil tree” from the game you talked about some time ago?…WELL there you have why its evil!)

However i really loved how our dear druid shined trough on this page, showing her wit like that just gave her some bonuspoints in my book. So overall a very good page id say :)

Nice work, in the last pane you made a good try at making Te’len blush, tho if I’m being honest here it might as well look as if some one slapped her on her cheek =P Nothing to do about it and really it’s just me, of course it looks like a blush when you think of it that way but just can’t help myself ^^

It just occurred to me that Hani might get along better in Orgrimmar than in Storm Wind.

At least as far as personality goes.

    • May 16, 2009 at 11:33

      Yeh agree
I wouldn’t find it to difficult seeing her work for the Horde instead of the Alliance orthe Sentinels.

This actually touches on something I’m somewhat hoping to play around with in Arc Two (which is still something like a year away and largely in planning stages) – the idea that with the straightforwardness and raw combatitive ability that young Foonmall approaches life, orcs might actually have an easier time respecting her than her own people.

Of course, it’s far off yet, and there’s plenty of ideas, elements and themes I want to include throughout, so it’s still largely up in the air how it’ll play out. Especially since Arc One still has quite a way to go before reaching a conclusion.
