#172 – “An Informative Dialogue”

Hey look, a Sunday update. What’s the world coming to, etcetera.

With the basic idea for this pages’ script developed along with that of the previous one, I already had the rough skeleton in place. Fitting the entire dialogue into the page however.. proved to be something of a bother. There’s a whole lot of narrative beats taking place, and a page is only so long; at the same time, they all exist in the same context, so it didn’t feel like I could resonably split it halfway through.

Areen: Miss Foonmall, wait. You do not have to–
Hani: We can’t just leave him here
Areen: He is unarmed and defenseless – We can not simply just kill him either…
    Rei: What, why not?

Your work is so awesome Nhani =D

now would be a good time to take up the life of a lumberjack peasant….run ye forth to Eastvale Logging Camp!

    Nice page Nhani

It’s not like she could leave him wandering around and warning people about intruders, either.

Sap him, tie him up, gag him, conceal his body. Killing is messy! *shakes fist*

    Rei is heartless. ;p

I’m sure Tiny’d prefer the term “practical” ;D

Well… yes. Practical. I can understand that, but…

That girl needs a moral standard nagging at her. It’s a good thing Areen’s in her life now, providing alternative perspective and fostering group conscience. :)

    *You’ve aggroed Hani*

*Hani uses “Whackaduck” and slams you for 1337*

    *Your knocked over*

    *Hani prepares to use Execute*

Love it :) and! could this possibly be a DARKER side of HANI?!?! *dundunduuuuuuunnnn*

See in the next thrilling episode of! … BtT

Good page ^^, also shows alittle more of the code of the warrior and that of the paladin. Oh, and kinda grinned when i noticed that the only we see of Te’len is her peaking behind hani at the 8th panel :P

I always felt that while I think Hani is – in her own way – a good person at heart, or at least tries to be, she isn’t necessarily a nice one. She’d be perfect for seeing you safely through a dark alley; if you want someone to have a pleasant dinner with, you’d be better off with Te’len.

What about Te? She will have something to say, that’s for sure, and with her personality, she would let him live = stalemate. Hibernate is out of question, it works only on beasts and dragons.

    Anoher fantastic comic as always!
Hey! i even saw you on Earthen ring! part of me wanted to scream and ask for an audograph ^^

I’ve met Nhani on Earthen Ring aswell. I have even had a few dialouges with her regarding the basics of role-playing and (this might sound a little rash) even asked if I could join her great guild. Of course, I got a straight decline (or so I thought it were).

      *RP mode active*

So now I’m playing the character known as Nirene Feathersong, the lone-wolf hunter that works as a freelance and can take on even the greatest challenges with ease! At times, however, she feels lonely, and could need to settle down in some great guild that seeks to hunt down even greater challenges.

So, there you have it. As for this page, it really gives a dramatic atmosphere. I sure hope Hani can hold back her killing instincts this time, else she’ll have Areen and Te’len scolding her really bad, and it wouldn’t be good for our little band if that were to happen, nor would it put her in any better reputation with Tyrande should she find out.

Starwatch never had more than five people in it, two of which were me, so it’s never really been anything to join; since it only ever contained fellow nubs, the guild chat was also entirely quiet because all the talk goes over channel. All it really existed for was an in-character entity and extra storage via guild bank.

That said, I’ve taken the Lights back recently, but I haven’t quite decided to what end yet. Not to mention I still need to take the time to go over the rather lengthy list of inactive players and alts that make up most of its membership with industrial-size shears.

Hani gives me the impression of someone who you wouldn’t want to introduce to the “polite” society of Azeroth but the type of person you need by your side in a struggle.

Her view of right and wrong seems to be shaped by what is best for her companions. She doesn’t have the luxury of debating if someone should die or live. Split second decisions and let the Gods sort them out when the dead arive.
