#209 – “Once Smitten..”

Some pages I just have to play by ear. I knew pretty much what needed to happen, but with the majority of the page centered around events rather than dialogue, there was a fair bit of trial and error involved. There was also a few things that didn’t work – I’d planned for Te’len to do another attempt at utilizing roots, but.. there wasn’t really any good locations with dirt allowing for it. Tiny did get to finally use the compact Harvest Reaper she’s had hanging around in the background since the smelter, in the least.

Ultimately, I needed the entirety of the ship population to be (or in the least seem to be) more than the group could handle – if it hadn’t been, then they could’ve just stormed it from the getgo, which I didn’t really want. It likely would’ve been a whole lot faster, but I don’t think it would’ve been as interesting.

is that Van cleef I spot behind Mr.Smite? :o

And yeah good thing that they need to retreat, or risk beeing overrun, that’s more realistic(duh:P) which is how this story goes, even though it’s still WoW

Haha, I see him to behind smite. I wonder if they’re gonna use that cannon to blow the door down O_o (That’d be cool :P)

We’re not retreating, we’re advancing in the opposite direction!

Silly heroes! Those are exit doors, and as per fire code regulations, they open out. Closing them won’t even slow down the angry mob following you.

I’m going to divert form the expected hope for more Deadmines-esque encounters, and hope that this turns into an exact replica of the Last Crusade motorcycle chase scene. It could end with them pulling up to a sign post in rural Westfall, and deciding to go to Orgrimmar.

Oh em gee, if Tiny could get a hat like Henry Jones’, I might nerd explode.

What? I don’t make fun of YOUR all’s alternate storyline fantasies. T_T

If it’s okay for me to fantasize about Demolition man while reading this, it’s okay for you my friend.

Taking a page from random renders.. wouldn’t we need Raene for motorcycle chase scenes?

Though for some reason, this made me picture Beyond the Tree like a SCUMM(tm)-based game. Use Sword on Defias Pirate. Pick up Used Cutlass. Use Used Cutlass with Rope. Use Improvised Grappling Hook with Rock Formation.

..that said.. I’d imagine it would’ve worked far better with the input system of Full Throttle.

“You know what else would look good on your nose?”
      “No, what?”
      “The ship!” /slam

        Hmmm, good point. Sigh :(

I like the BtT text-based adventure game idea.

You are in Darnassus, in the Cenarion Circle. There are many druids and Sentinels around you. There is a book on the table, and plants grown everywhere. One of the druid leaders is being a dick to your friend, and your personal hero.

Hmm… I’m guessing that one of two things will happen…

    1. Tiny will lock the door (possibly while Te roots it closed) while Hani and Areen load and aim the cannon. There’s no keyhole on the other side of the door.

    2. Chase scene!

I guess they will jump in a mine cart in a hurry, through a samll hatch they will ride crazy fast just to be thrown out of the mines to the seaside near the lighthouse. Reminds me of disneys cartoons :) Lotta fun :9

you did it all perfect like i wished it, as written earlier in one of the episodes, then VC is one of my favorite villians in WoW and i wouldnt like to see him just get stabbed and thats that, :) very happy to see the group also can run the other way for once.

    Keep it up! TC out

See, I told you Mr. Smite would shout for the swabs to repel the invaders…

Oh, and my bet would be that those defias thugs will rampage through the door, just to get blown away by the cannon on the other side – if they can load it quick enough, that is. ^^

Mr. Edwin VanCleef has refused to comment on what steps he may or may not have taken to refuse the onset of his expanding age. He also ensured that his contract clearly states he is fully permitted to stand in shadow or far distance to obscure what toll time may have taken.

Suppose his apparent camera shyness would have to go away before we’d get to see him clearly enough to find out..

If Tiny doesn’t insist on firing the cannon, I’ll be damned!

Just don’t kill Smite. That guy’s too awesome to die.
