#301 – “Outreach”

The dialogue for this page took surprisingly long to write – I had a rough idea, but the specific choice of lines and their interplay were somewhat more resistant, and it actually took me several hours trying to bounce various lines off of eachother before I had a result that I was happy enough with. Though in hindsight, having multiple conversations taking place at the same time might not have been the brightest of ideas. But oh well.

Dagri and Areen are so cute :3

I expected Hani to be a bit more defensive about “having someone to hold her leash” :O

On the contrary, having several conversations occur at once amongst a group is the most natural thing in the world.

Wolf and Gnome. It writes itself!
Cleaning up the mean streets of Ironforge isn’t the job of one man; it’s the job of one gnome, and loyal her wolf companion. They might not do things ‘by the book’, but they get results. Crimes got no where to hide when this duo sets out to fetch them… to JUSTICE. From the backwater hill country of Westfall, to the icy peaks of Dun Morogh, the law only comes in two sizes: small, and kick-your-motherf**king-ass.
(This is the part in the credits where they drive up to a house in the Bad Side of Town in Areen’s early model mechanostrider. Dagri’s head is out the window. He may or may not be driving; I haven’t decided yet.)
No criminal is too big to be outside the reach of the iron hammer of their dogged determination.
But they also know how to party.
(Clip of them busting up a cocaine and hooker bash in Old Towne)
    Hard.
And if you think you can step to them
(Slo-mo of them jumping on to a gyrocopter trying to take off from IF’s airport. Inside ‘copter are The Drugs and the Kidnapped Mayor’s Daughter)
    THINK AGAIN.
Wolf and Gnome: Seriously, Don’t Commit Any Felonies in Their Jurisdiction, They WILL Mess You Up.

    Cool page, Nhani.

I think having multiple conversations was a brilliant idea :) it gives a hilarious look at our group, the serious two and the comical three’s :P I’d love to see Areen riding on Dagri into battle :P

Hmm, you could write the conversations that happen in the background with a smaller or whiter font, though personally i didn’t find them hard to follow the way they are now.

It seems fairly reminiscent of some of my older roleplay encounters, really. There’d be about 4/5 of us walking, the two people at the front talking serious business and the three people following talking about utter shit or just being completely bonkers.

The only time I think it looks slightly off is panel 6. It kind of looks like Te’s the one responding to Raene with the speech being right underneath it, although obviously when taking the whole page into account she’s quite clearly talking to Areen.

All the same. “Still prefer to have someone holding your leash, mm?”
    “Yes, that’s right.”

Who knows what our underlying meaning here could be.

Please have the wolf eat the tiny night elf. I find her annoying and would take great pleasure in the wolf eating her, and then taking her place in the adventure. Also, please have the tiny paladin ride the wolf like a horse.

Dagri and Areen, I smell a sitcom! …and also wet dog!

You know, the conversations do mesh in my mind, In a way they are both about someone stuck in their current behavior / form, and that not being a bad thing. Dagri is only a wolf, a very clever and cute wolf i might add, but still only a wolf. And Hani is stuck in her mode of thinking, and unwilling / unable to change.
    Eh.. maybe just me though.
